stuff.

We're leaving next week for vacation (Texas) and I am thrilled to take a break and get away from the daily routine, especially work and crappy weather. This will be the first time we travel by plane with our kids so I'm a little nervous about that. But I'm mostly just excited to get away.

I was digging through stuff tonight and found some beautiful vintage gift wrap with this fun clock/floral design. I love it! I started making magnet sets. I already wish I had more of this paper!

vacation, geek-kon

I finally booked our tickets to San Antonio. We leave in less than 2 weeks. I am excited to go on a vacation with my family and to to someplace we've never beenI just don't look forward to flying with a 1 year old and 3 year old. Oh well, at least it'll be brief (at first we toyed with taking the train which would have been 38+ hours!) Chad really wants to move to Texas so this will be our little test run to check it out a little more. I am not completely sold but definitely like the warmer weather. We are very indecisive about what to do when our lease is up this spring. We know we are moving, just have NO IDEA where. It could be a move across town or could be a much bigger move. Hopefully we can figure all of this out very soon.

I made a gigantic batch of star trek buttons the other night. Here are a few of them. Oh! And Geek-kon 2008 is scheduled! I had so much fun at it last year and plan to apply to be a vendor again this year. If this is something you're interested in, check it out HERE. You can pre-register already! It was such a cool event last time around.

Have a fab weekend!

Blah

The past 48 hours.

Made homemade play doh with the kids
Did about 17 loads of laundry
Started but did not finish taxes
Watched a lot of Batman & Robin
Shoveled obscene amounts of snow and ice

We have parent teacher conferences at Larsy's preschool this week. He's three and goes to school for 2.5 hours one day a week. He loves it and it seems like he's a perfect angel there from what we're told. I had no idea they even did parent teacher conferences for preschool but I am totally interested in what they think of my little man. I think he's pretty rotten lately…so I want to know what their trick is!

It's almost the end of February and I haven't made time for a date night. Grrr! My goal was at least one date each month this year. Is that so much to ask? Maybe we can get out this weekend. Sheesh, this month has flown by. Does that mean it's almost spring? Please?

I haven't made anything much lately. I punched some buttons from old comics and books over the weekend. I have some ideas for new tote bag and shirt designs but haven't pulled it together yet. I need to order a lot of supplies. And I really need to choose a t-shirt wholesaler and go with it. If you make shirts and have any suggestions I would love to hear them!

Happy Valentine's Day!

you complete me.

I didn't get a chance to share this robot card last week and figured today would be the perfect day. Chad and I talked about making robot valentines and one day last week I came home and he had finished this cutesy robot love design. I think I'm going to keep this one in my etsy shop all year round. I think it would make a perfect anniversary or engagement card. Ah, robot love.

Well, for Valentine's Day I think I am going to treat myself to a frozen coffee drink and a yummy lunch. I'm leaving work early today to get some important errands taken care of. On top of groceries and bills, I also need to figure out what exactly to advertise in BUST (I was lucky enough to snag one of the cooperative etsy ad spots!) within the next day, finish my taxes, and book tickets to San Antonio for our family. If I accomplish any of those things in the next 24 hours I'll be happy.

Like every other night, Chad has to work tonight. So I will be spending Valentine's Day with my other sweeties, Lars and Jette. Hmmm. Maybe we can bake something heart shaped. Does it get any cheesier than that?

New Tees!

My kids wore their brand new shirts from LOL Baby yesterday. Aren't they cute? Lars loooooved his cowboy shirt and didn't want to take it off at bedtime. Jette kept looking down at her little bird and for some reason as soon as they had these shirts on they wanted to hug a lot (or maybe that was partially because I took the camera out?)

Thanks to Lori from lol baby for making these along with another special onesie for me. She has lots of other fun items in her etsy shop. Check it out!

Thanks to everyone who braved the weather and came out to the Craftacular on Saturday! It was a fun show and I even took some fantastic goodies home with me. I took pictures of my favorite favorites. The ship hoodie was made by Jess of Big Pink Heart. It's a gift for my friend's little boy but I would totally buy an adult size for myself. Love it!

I also picked up this adorable clutch purse by Dainty Daisies. Isn't the ribbon perfect?

There were so many other amazing crafters at the show and several new faces. I even found a perfect valentine for Chad! I won't post that one since he just might read this…but I can tell you it's by PishPoshPaperworks who I am superglad to have discovered this weekend.

Yay for craft awesomeness!

This weekend I was also invited to consign at a new local shop that will be opening soon in Madison. I am very excited about the opportunity! More on this soon…

Around 1:00a.m. this morning I made a list of everyone who entered to win a valentine gift pack. I interrupted Chad while he was drawing robots and had him draw two names. In case you can't read my writing (I can't,) the winners are: Jewel Street and Amateur de Livre. Congrats! And thanks to everyone who left a comment over the past couple of days!

If you're in the Madison area please stop by the Valentine Craftacular tomorrow at the High Noon Saloon. I'll be there along with lots of other awesome vendors from 10am-4pm. Hope to see you there!

pushing cars out of snowbanks is overrated + new cards.

Wednesday=lots of snow in Wisconsin.

Chad got a snowday!! Lucky. I went to work.

Before I left work my brother called and asked if I could pick him up and drive him out to the highway to jump his car, which had been stranded there for hours. He tried to get it towed but the tow trucks were either so backed up or not going out at all because of the weather conditions. Of course by the time I left work the roads were a MESS. I had to get out to help push at least 8 cars just so that I could keep moving. Everyone was getting stuck on the slightest incline or just because there was SO much snow.

So after a 90 minute drive which should have taken 10 minutes, I arrived exhausted at my brother's place. We drove out to his car which was then totally plowed in -- and started shoveling it out. A truck full of 3 fantastic strangers stopped to help us shovel so it went a lot faster. We got the car jumped, finally. YAY!

This is the craziest snow storm I've experienced. There were seriously more than a thousand cars stuck on the highway OVERNIGHT. Sheesh!

Okay seriously. Spring, please???

Here are some cards I finished tonight.

look!

It's been awhile. I snagged a treasury yesterday and chose these pretties.

You can click here to have a closer look. I feel like it's been ages since I made a treasury. It's so fun! I think I am addicted (again.)

Craftacular!

It's craftacular time! I have been busy making lots of fun valentines and other goodies for this weekend's High Noon Valentine Craftacular. If you're in the Madison area, please stop by, have a drink, maybe even find something special for your sweetie.

Chad finished up a silly robot design yesterday so we are hoping to have ONE MORE new valentine design ready soon. Hopefully tonight! It's adorable. I can't wait to reveal. If we get them printed in time I will add some to my etsy shop. Otherwise they will be a crafacular surprise!
