Summer Craftacular!

I have been busy getting my craft on for the High Noon Saloon Summer Craftacular. It's hosted by Glitter Workshop and Emily Kircher, Recycling Artist. There will be a ton of great local and regional vendors at this show. If you're in the area on June 16, stop by and check it out!

super girly!

Space Oddities is going super girly with lots of new one of a kind compact mirrors! I broke out the mod podge yesterday and went crazy with pretty tissue papers, fun craft papers, old books...you name it! I love these compacts because they're super durable and have a regular and magnifying mirrors. Yay! Here are some of the results!

french birdies

These are some of the cards I've been busy working on this week! I've been having fun ripping pages from a sexy looking 1970s french pulp novel and stamping them with pretty birds. I will be packaging these to sell in sets. Enjoy!

goodbye mile high city

I got back from Denver last night! It was a super awesome no-kids vacation with my BFF Jessi. We did everything! I forgot how magical it is to sleep in, eat out and actually have a moment to concentrate on something.

We took a basic sewing class at a fabulous little crafty shop called Fancy Tiger and made the most awesome little zippered bags. We experimented with making fun headbands once we got back to our hotel after the class. I also played with stitching on cards with jessi's old sewing machine. I love it! I can't wait to find time to practice and make more fun stuff.

Now I'm back to the daily grind - work, kids, craft, sleep - trying to squeeze in some extra crafting time anyplace I can so I can get prepared for my next show. This spring is just flying by! Enjoy these wacky pictures of stuff we made in Denver!

Denver ahoy!

Well I'm off to Denver tomorrow for a kids-free vacation with my dear friend Jessi! She is my partner in the felt-and-paper-craft-madness that is applepanda. Our agenda for our trip is like this: eat, sew, sleep. It's my dream vacation and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's so hard to find time to craft with 2 little ones and a full time job. I'm trying to figure out if bringing my button maker will make my suitcase exceed the 50lb limit. Perhaps I should save that for the next trip. I'm super excited to check out some fun craft stores I've heard about in Denver and Boulder and just RELAX without having to change diapers or do dishes. Yay!

Here are a couple of applepanda cards that Jessi and I have made together. She makes the little felt dudes and mails them to me in Wisconsin and then I work them into cards. It's kind of a logistic nightmare but we are loving the results so far!

wax.

I put the kids to bed and spent all Saturday night making wax paper cards. These are my favorite cards to make. I love shaving the crayon and watching how it spreads in the wax paper when it melts. Here are some of the finished results. I'll be adding more to my shop tomorrow and in the coming weeks!

I heart Paperboy

I finally got a chance to visit my very favorite paper shop while I was in Chicago a couple of weekends ago. It was magical. I hadn't been there in a couple of years! I found gorgeous papers from all over the place. Dreamy creamy Nepalese wedding papers, Roger La Borde prints in bold beautiful colors, so many other inspiring things to choose from. Plus they have the very best selection of handmade cards I've seen anywhere. I could have looked all day! If you are in the Chicagoland area and appreciate pretty papers, please check them out!

The picture below is a card I made with a fun screen printed airplane paper I found at PaperBoy. I added a removable button to make this a perfect card/gift combo.
