treasury madness

Amazingly, etsy has chosen THREE treasuries curated by me for their front page in the past week. Two within the last 24 hours and one more a few days ago. Crazy! Before this I have had two total treasuries total make front page (and I've been making them on and off since I joined etsy more than 2 years ago.) Here's the latest one that was on the front page yesterday in the early evening.

retro father's day card
Originally uploaded by space oddities

I had a nice day off with chad and the kids today. We visited my brother and his family, ate lots of yummy stuff, let the kids run wild in the yard and and adored their new baby. And the weather was perfect.

I was cleaning my bookshelves and found father's day cards I made last year. What perfect timing! I listed a few of them in my etsy shop over the weekend. I plan to tackle the rest of the gigantic bookshelf and possibly my craft area this week so I may have more goodies coming out of the woodwork.

Craft: I need button parts. Again.

Food: I want ice cream. Dark chocolate.

Movies: Chad and I watched Darjeeling Limited and Diaries of the Dead this weekend. Diares of the dead was okay. Darjeeling LImited was really disappointing. I feel like I'm the last person on the planet to see the new indiana jones. We wanted to go to the drive-in last night but the weather was stormy and uncertain. Boo!

Goodnight.

letting go

The closer it gets to July, the more excited I am getting about moving. But at the same time it's hard to completely process what I'm going to be leaving behind. Of course the hardest part will be missing friends and family. We've gotten so used to seeing my brother and sister-in-law often and my kids love to hang out with their cousins. It's weird to imagine it any other way. It's definitely going to be different.

The other thing that has been hard for me lately is not applying for upcoming shows. It killed me not to apply for the High Noon Summer Craftacular, but there's no way I could find time to do it in the midst of packing and cleaning and house hunting. Not to mention that I'm going to be traveling that weekend…boo! I can’t even GO to the craftacular much less be a vendor at it. I was also looking forward to being a vendor at Geek-kon this year but we'll be gone before then. I know that once we settle in I'll find new craft fairs and new opportunities to sell my work. It's just hard to let go of what I've become used to and have come to love.

I work up on the sofa at 3:30am the other day and instead of dragging myself up to bed, I first checked etsy. Seriously. I'm that dedicated. Ha!

3:30am happened to be a perfect time to snag an etsy treasury so it all worked out. Isn't it pretty?

frolic

Happy Mother's Day! I woke up to roses and my favorite coffee drink this morning. I also got an adorable card and a pretty gerber daisy plant from the kids. I have the best family in the world.

I was busy cleaning and organizing at home all weekend. I meant to start packing but ended up not even packing one box. I did accomplish a lot, though. I finished about 8 loads of laundry, cleaned and vacuumed my room and the kids' room, set up Jette's toddler bed, cleaned one bathroom, and went through loads of baby clothes and separated bags for baby Esme, consignment and goodwill. My house is feeling slightly more sane so packing should be a little smoother now.

So with all of this cleaning I haven't been crafting much. I have been restocking magnets, pins and cards at Anthology as I am able to and have been posting a few things here and there in my shop. Once the big move is over I plan to get back in the swing of all things crafty as soon as possible.

It's pretty cold and gloomy in Madison today. I'm not thrilled about that. Sunshine, please?

babies, owls, art-o-mat

First and foremost, I'm an aunt! My brother and sister-in-law had their little girl today. No name as of yet. I can't wait to see her. She is the fifth child in the fam so she has lots of proud siblings. They were out of town when my sister-in-law went into labor and were unable to come back to have the baby in Madison. So they are stuck in La Crosse for a few days!!

I stopped by Anthology today to drop off some things off for consignment and ended up spending some time downtown. It's much easier browsing with one kid instead of two. I decided to use the art-o-mat vending machine at Pop Deluxe. I haven't even had a chance to open and look at what I got out of the machine. When I finally open it I'll take pictures to share. I also found pretty wrapping paper.

We also went to the farmer's market this weekend. Finally! It was a cold and rainy day but the kids did great and we got lots of delicious things. It was our first time going this season (the market just opened a couple of weeks back) and Lars is already so excited about going again next week. I think we are going to plan to go every Saturday morning as long as we're here. Well, maybe that's not practical but as much as we can, anyway.

I finally got around to posting a few new things on etsy this weekend. I have quite a stash of stuff that is just sitting here waiting to be photographed and posted. Since I'm not planning any shows before we move, I need to get busy with my etsy shop! I posted this pink owl shirt and several magnet sets. Lots more coming in the next couple of weeks as I find time to add more to my shop.
